Shark Tooth Island Walkthrough
Overview
Shark Tooth Island is one of the early islands in Poptropica and is relatively easy to complete. Your mission is to rescue Professor Hammerhead and a young boy who are trapped on a small island in Booga Bay, guarded by a giant shark!
Getting Started
When you arrive on Shark Tooth Island, you'll land on Main Street. Talk to the locals to learn about the shark problem and the people who need rescuing.
Getting the Grass Skirt
1. Head right from Main Street to the Ancient Ruins 2. Find the Grass Skirts stand 3. Click on it to get a grass skirt - you'll need this to blend in with the natives
Entering the Temple
1. Put on your grass skirt from your inventory 2. In the Ancient Ruins area, look for a large stone block 3. Push the block under the vine near the palm tree 4. Climb up the vine to reach the temple entrance 5. Talk to the Medicine Man at the top - he'll tell you about the calming potion
Temple Challenge
Inside the temple, you'll face some challenging platforming:
1. Navigate through the moving platforms carefully 2. Watch out for the swinging coconuts 3. Make your way to the left side of the temple 4. Jump down to the bottom level
The Tooth Panel Puzzle
At the bottom of the temple, you'll find a panel with shark teeth:
1. Click on the teeth in this order: 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th teeth 2. The door will open when you get the correct combination 3. Enter the secret chamber
Collecting the Ingredients
You need three ingredients for the calming potion:
1. Old Bone
- Found in the skeleton at the bottom of the temple
- Click on the skeleton to collect it
2. Key Ingredient (Green)
- Located in the urn in the secret chamber
- Click on the green urn to collect it
3. Carbonated Coconut Milk
- Exit the temple and return to Main Street
- Enter the Coconut Cafe
- Talk to the person inside to get the coconut milk
Making the Calming Potion
1. Return to the Medicine Man at the top of the temple 2. Give him all three ingredients 3. He'll create the Calming Potion for you
Calming the Shark
1. Head right from Ancient Ruins to Booga Bay 2. Find the cannon near the water 3. Click on the cannon to load the calming potion 4. Aim at the shark and fire! 5. The shark will be calmed and swim away
Rescuing the Castaways
1. After calming the shark, swim across to the small island 2. Talk to Professor Hammerhead and the young boy 3. Lead them back to the main island 4. They'll return to safety
Getting Your Reward
1. Return to Main Street 2. The grateful islanders will thank you 3. The mayor will appear and award you the Island Medallion!
Tips and Secrets
- The grass skirt is essential - you can't enter certain areas without it
- Take your time with the temple platforming - there's no time limit
- The tooth panel combination is always the same
- You can explore the island freely before and after completing the mission
