Winning Round ‘Em Up in Wild West Island

The sneak preview for Poptropica Wild West Island is here and when you go to visit the island, you’ll get to play a new mini-game called Round ‘Em Up. The object of the game is to use your rope lasso to get three cattle and take them back to your ranch pen in two and a half minutes. If you do it, you win a prize. The prize changes every two days, so you can keep coming back over the next two weeks to win all seven prizes.

This game uses the new overhead view that we saw in Cryptids Island when you drove the Jeep around in Puerto Rico in search of the Chupacabra. The controls work pretty much the same but with a few changes. You can ride your horse forwards or backwards, and clicking the mouse button will cycle your horse through a few different speeds when it’s riding forwards. You can use the space bar to start twirling the lasso and then press it again to throw it. On the second press, the lasso will go in whatever direction it is pointing. If it hits a steer, you’ll rope it!

After you rope the steer, ride towards it to stay close. If the steer gets too far away, the lasso breaks and you have to start over. After a few seconds, the steer will stop resisting you and then it will follow you back to the ranch pen.

There are seven different prizes that you can win over the next fourteen days. Each prize will be available for two days, so you need to keep coming back to play to win them all.
