The twelfth main island to be released on Poptropica is Mythology Island. It was released first to Poptropica members in early access mode on April 1, 2010. Everyone will get a chance to play on April 29 when it becomes available to the public.
Here is a little bit of explanation of what Mythology Island is all about from the promotional page on the Poptropica Web site:
Mighty Zeus, king of the gods, needs a hero–and he wants you! To satisfy Zeus, you’ll need to battle monsters, swim the depths of the ocean, and descend into the mysterious underworld. Will you emerge a hero like Hercules, or face the fiery wrath of Zeus and his thunderbolts?
In this mission, you’ll get a quest from Zeus, king of the gods and need to perform several tasks. Along the way, you’ll explore different areas, like Poseidon’s underwater kingdom of the sea and the Underworld, domain of Hades. Here are the items you’ll need to find on your quest:
- A flower from the Garden of the Sphinx
- The golden ring of the Minotaur
- A scale from the Hydra
- A giant pearl from the kingdom of Poseidon
- A whisker from Cerebus, the guardian of the Underworld
Mythology Island Overview
There are several different areas in Mythology Island, and in the course of your quest you’ll travel to the kingdoms of Poseidon, Hades and ultimately Zeus himself. Here is a list of the different areas from the game map:

Before the island launched, the creators of Poptropica posted several sneak peek screenshots to the official Poptropica blog. Here is a look at some of the screenshots, which gave everyone an early look at the newest island.

Mythology Island is the best! It’s hard at the end though. Can you believe Zeus is a cheat! He made me do all this risky dangerous jobs like: get a scale from a nasty beast, pull water gates for some Sphynx so she will give me a stupid flower, risk my life by getting knocked by some clam to get a pearl, make me get some ring for a minoutar by getting through some risky Labrynth by touching people’s bones, and learn some useless song on a reed pipe just to get some dog from the Underworld to go to sleep so I can pluck his hair! How stupid! At the end, instead of me giving me to him, I was talking to his daughter, and I noticed the notes together said, “Who ever hields the five sacred items will rule Poptropica,” then he came and stole the sacred items from me! Cruel old man! Hades and Posieden stopped fighting, and stayed in their realms like good gods. They actually gave me their most important items. Posieden gave me his Triton, and Hades gave me his crown. I looked at everything in their hangouts. Posieden had girls at his, Hades, had a picture of him, and one of his Underworld alligators. Cute! My middle name is Athena so I payed a lot of attention to her, and showed her respect. Athena’s sister Aphrodite thinks I’m a smartypants and asks me who the Gods are and how to spell them. I think she’s fond of her Uncle Posieden because she was at his hangout. Aphrodite sounds poor and can only live with her beauty. I think she is just jealous that I know her family better then her. In Mythology you don’t meet all of the Gods, but you meet the wise ones. Except Zeus he’s greedy and thinks his cheating self should rule Poptropica. He called me A “Stupid Mortal!” you meet other people too from greek history, like: Medusa and Hercules. Hercules was a great help until Medusa’s snake hair made Hercules think it was a real snake. Then, she turned him into stone! He can help you by: moving some heavy rock, kicking down old stone, but does not wish to see Aprodite. Either do I. After Hercules got turned into stone by Medusa, I felt bad. But he said, ” Don’t feel sorry for me, I’ve always wanted to have my own statue on Mount Olympus.” Then Zeus battles you by calling you a “Pesky Mortal.” Be careful though, Zeus throws lightning, blows wind when injured, he glows up and he cannot be hurt at this stage, and when he’s really angry, flies after you. Notice that you are on a cloud. When Zeus hits you, a chunk of your cloud floats away. But if you are starting to run out, go by the clouds floating alone. They attatch to your damaged cloud. Zeus is hard but can be struck down. If you lose, try again give it another shot! Mythology is a fun island, and has a beautiful medallion. So, give Mythology Island a go!

to beat the hydra you need to jump on all of its heads till it all falls asleep. then jump on top of it and click on its headyou will get a scale.

I ned help! I have everything you need from Posidens Island but i can’t find the pomagranitt so I can’t get into Hades place in the Under World!
grace to get the pomogranits you have to go to the garden of the sphinx iin you will find a giant chicken sort of creature K so jump on top of her and if you see a tree with a sighn next to it it says something like free pomogranits

lets tell favourite parts of mythology island ok so i want aphrodite (me i just changed my name) grace,emily 1(the one with the long speach emily 2 aka different emily and the the rest of you ok so i will start ok so i have 3 different parts number 1 is were you clean the graffiti from hades’s wall because were it says hades is deadbeat i rub out beat and it says hades is dead and the one wich says hades has deathly breat andi rub out ly and it says hades has death breath and number 2 id the part where your in hades’s cave where you fall down the hole because it reminds me of alice in wonderland and the last one is the part were medusa turns hercules to stone and i was suprised that medusa was on it and it is a cutscene moment so you can only wear medusa hair unless yyou buy it or someone who has already bought it puts it on you

I hated the ending part when i had to face Zeus , the best part was when i could like jump on those head of the long neck thingy. i just think Zeus is just plain old lazy bum,why must we do those things that in real life is so hard we might just die, cause of those things he knows that we are humans/poptropicans and hes a god isn’t he suppose to do things that might hurt people.
