Round Two of the Poptropica Island Smackdown continues. We’re all voting to determine the best Poptropica Island of all time. So far in Round Two, we’ve seen Time Tangled run circles around Shark Tooth and Spy Island sneak past Nabooti. This time, we’ve got two heavyweights up against each other: Mythology Island and Steamworks Island.
Mythology Island was released in the Spring, hot on the heels of the release of the Percy Jackson movie. It featured an epic quest where you needed to recover five sacred items from Poptropica for none other than Zeus himself. Along the way, you met many of the ancient Greek gods and even had a final battle with Zeus to determine the fate of Poptropica.
Steamworks Island arrived this summer after much anticipation and build-up. It was an island with a deep mystery and no one around. Along the way, you teamed up with a lovable robot companion named Sprocket and set out to discover what happened to everyone who used to live there. This island featured one of the most difficult boss fights ever and a crazy amount of puzzles to solve along the way.
Both were great islands. But only one can win in this head-to-head battle to see who will advance to the Final Four. Which will it be? Steamworks or Mythology? You decide…

I haven’t beaten each island, but I can honestly say that Mythology is WAY BETTER. But maybe that’s just because I’m into Greek Mythology…. =D

Steamworks is way hard.
here is why I voted for Mythology island, First of all, I am FASCINATED with Greek mythology, and Mythology island was really fun to experience forging the River Styx, figuring out the puzzling labyrinth with the help of the golden thread, solving the Sphinx’s riddle, fighting the Hydra, exploring the hidden realms of Poseidon and Hades and of course, the thrilling and fun battle against the traitor Zeus! Also Steamworks is a bit fun, but there is WAY to many puzzles like that annoying thing where you had to channel the steam through those pipes, that was really just too hard! plus another reason Mythology was better is because there’s more too it, it’s just a much better quest overall. Plus there’s people to talk to! in steamworks you only get to talk to sprocket, and he only said weird things like, “why do humans have suck big heads?”

Of course Mythology will win, what with such awesome books backing it up. Creepy, drooly plants have NOTHING on bestseller books with tons of fans. And Mythology has so many more cool outfit choices.
Mythology! But this may be a bit biased, because I LOVE Greek mythology.

Yeah, I love the Percy Jackson and The Hero’s of Olympus series too, but Mythology Island is nothing like the books. Personally, worse if you ask me. I like the island, but if I had to like it based on the books, I’d give it a thumbs down. It’d just be better if the Greek gods were like in Rick Riordan’s books. It’d also be awesome if we could fight Ares!!! 😉

My comments as My WOW (Words Of Wisdom):
In Mythology, you are able to kick Zeus’, uh, behind, complete the most difficult maze ever, and equip some of the most ferocious god battle-gear. It’s alot of fun, but I wish Hercules didn’t stay as a stone. I felt sorry for him. I also wanted to customize Medusa’s outfit, but that scene went too fast for me. Otherwise, for you guys, I can’t find any faults…
In Steamworks, we had the aid of a robot who could talk, used mechanical gadgets to sneak in restricted buildings, and also rescue missing people (who didn’t return back to their homes after being released!!!). The robot would rather hang out with it’s friend than really talk to you, the missing people stayed where they were, and … well, IT WAS LONELY OVER THERE!!!
But I really liked Steamworks along with Mythology. They both had awesome boss battles, (No One Should Complain About Them, If They’re Soooo Hard, GO ON ANOTHER WEB SITE WHERE THE GAME IS EASIER. Is That Any Fun?!?! And Besides, There’s Something Called YOUTUBE! Type “Poptropica, Steamworks” TONS of Walkthroughs!!! [Not trying to be mean or anything…] 🙂 )

It’s be best to fight Ares from REAL Greek mythology. Just give him a little paper cut, then he’d be crying! And he’s the god of war.

mythology is so awesome because it was the easiest for me and so much fun! plus you learn stuff about the greek gods unlike in steamworks you only learn about monster plants and so boring, it was the longest island ever!

I think they should make a winter island! And island about saving santa. His workshop got attacked by evil snowmen, and they’ve taken over! The hero (poptropican) has to stop the snowmen or else they’ll freeze everyone on Christmas! Full of snowball fights, evil snowmen who try to kill you with icicles and candy cane, sleigh rides with santa, and tons of costumes to customize! 🙂

To get this costume,go to Cryptids Island and go to the lady by the bench near the General Store.
Copy her hair and shirt.Then,go to that lady by the bench at Kitty’s Kites and copy her skirt. Go to Mythology Island and go inside Herc’s Hero Hut.Go left until you see that lady all in green. Copy her bangs.
