In 1673 George Fox was inspired with the idea of creating a Quaker commonwealth. In 1681 a member of the Society of Friends, or Quakers, named William Penn recieved the proprietorship of PA. He immediately advertised for settlers via the printing press and including the German, Dutch, and French dialects. By the end of 1681, there were about a thousand settlers in PA already, who had come from the aforementioned countries. These settlers we mostly religious dissenters of one form or another of Christian protestantism, and were seeking a place where they could have religious freedom, since Penn mas making the colony and religiously tolerant colony. By 1662, enough settlers had settled in a certain place to form a city, which Penn named Philadelphia, or the City of Brotherly Love. One cause for his enormous success in populating the colony was the fact that Penn sold generous land offers. Perhaps the most important point is that the settlers respected the Native Americans enough to actually buy the land from them (the only other place I've heard of that being done was in Rhode Island, because of the efforts of William Rodgers.). Maintaining friendly relations with the Native Americans, the two cultures lived together quite harmoniously, at very least when compared to some of the other colonies. Also, in 1682 the Duke of York (Future King James II) sold Delware to William Penn. It was originally part of PA, until 1701 it was allowed to have a separate assembly, although it still had the same governor until the American Revolution when it became completely separate.

A few other things I know about PA:

Pittsburgh, a city in western PA, named after William Pit, 1st Earl of Chatham, is known for its steel manufacture.

One of the major groups of people in PA are the Amish. They live simply, do not use technology if they can help it, and following the teachings of Jacob Ammon, are extremely devout Christians. Amish and Plain People of Lancaster County, PA Also there are the Mennonites who follow what Menno Simons taught, and believe in similar principals as the Amish but are looser in their observation, particularly since they do not mind using technology. (Btw, both Ammon and Simons lived between 1500 and 1700.)

Congress used to meet, before the establishment of the Constitution in Independence Hall, Philadelphia, where they signed the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration in a house now known as the Declaration House. Philadelphia is also the home of Benjamin Franklin and countless events from the American Revolution.

uh hey guys. i kinda need a little help or inspiration bout something.
''im a reporter for the local enwspaper. i hear news that a tanker full of washing-up liquisd had spilled onto the streets in the centre of town and is causing delays and chaos. i need to write what the situation is, opinions of people who hae been affected, as well as the company responsible. i need to inform the community about how this happened, what the effects are and what the council is going to do about it''
soo what i need is two things - HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? how the heck did the tanker spill on the streets? and how it can affect people?
any ideas are welcome

Well, there are many things that could happen. I mean, if you want to be reasonable, there could've been a leak in the tank or the tank wasn't processing right and had too much pressure. This could lead it to explode and create a huge mess.

How did it get on the streets? It depends on where and how big the tank was. If the tank was huge, then it flooding the town might be reasonable.

You just have to be creative with this. There is no right answer for this since the situation wasn't 100% clear.

Also, it could have resulted from the trucker turning to tightly, and flipping over, flipping over because of a cross wind, or any other kind of accident may have ocurred. EFFECT: Washing liquid is slippery, so if cars get on it it would be as if they were on ice. It could contaminate the water by soaking into the ground or by running off into some water, it might kill vegetation (maybe), and it would be extremely hard to clean up, since water would just produce loads of suds. Sand would probably have to be put down. If it were a ship tanker, then yes, it might flood the town, but I assume you mean a tanker truck? In that case...probably not. Btw, a good detail to decide on is what kind of washing liquid it is: Dishwashing liquid, clothes washing liquid, hand soap liquid, ect.

Yes, there are many possible answers, so just using these ideas as inspiration, not a definitive answer, would be good.
